EDITORIAL

摘要

In academic life there are many ways in which to show appreciation. As scholars we use the work of others, explicitly acknowledging our intellectual debts as we build upon the work of others. In the class room, for the benefit of our students we identify important contributions to the current state of knowledge and the individuals behind them. This might go so far so as to name a concept, theory or approach after the individual originally thought to have come up with the idea. Scholarships could be won, as could various grants or simply time off from everyday professional chores to concentrate on research.
