With the increasing, worldwide expanding infrastructure, technical textiles/ nonwoven applications are becoming more and more significant. In particular demand are geotextile applications and technical textiles for the building industry such as roofing membranes and underlays as well as filtration applications, which all show considerable growth. Oerlikon Neumag recognized this trend early on and, in the past two years, increasingly focused on nonwoven products for technical applications, including products made from continuous filament. In order to meet the challenges of the market with technology, the spunbond pilot plant has been expanded.
