In the growth market of technical textiles, geotextiles are showing above-average rates of increase. Reasons for this development are global industrialization and infrastructure development, the search for new, cost-efficient construction solutions and necessary solutions for disaster prevention and environmental protection. With the introduction of synthetic polymers came the development of new building materials, the so-called geosynthetics (Table 2).
