I am delighted to be welcoming you to the first issue of Volume 27 of Gender in Management: An International Journal. The journal is a highly respected publication __ in the area of gender-based research in management and leadership, attracting both an international authorship and readership. As many of you know I have recently taken over as editor in chief and am pleased to report that Professor Sharon Mavin continues in her role as consulting editor. I would first like to take this opportunity to thank Dr Sandra Fielden for her outstanding work on the journal over the last ten years. You might be aware that in 2010 Sandra received an Outstanding Editor Award, Emerald's highest accolade, for her service to Gender in Management. This well-deserved award was in recognition of her work in raising the quality of published content and strengthening the journal's international profile. I am delighted to confirm that Sandra will remain on the Editorial Advisory Board and so we are able to continue to draw on her expertise and wisdom.
