L'auteur montre comment la psychosomatique peut constituer un terrain propice à la « tentation purificatrice » évoquée par J. Mauger et L. Monette dans leur rapport, au recours à l'idéalisation pour tenter d'exclure de la psyché ce qui rendrait autrement inévitable la confrontation à la perte et au deuil. Face à une atteinte soma-tique, l'objet sera parfois investi comme un persécuteur, parfois comme un sauveur. Parfois aussi, le sujet recourra à ce que l'auteur appelle une « solution masochiste », alors que la maladie dont on espère guérir en faisant amende honorable sera attribuée à une négligence ou une faute personnelle. Certains mouvements contre-transférentiels suscités par la rencontre d'un analysant atteint dans son corps sont aussi présentés.%The author shows how psychosomatics can constitute a basis for the « temptation to purify » evoked by J. Mauger and L. Monette, for the recourse to idealisation, to try to exclude from the psyche what would otherwise make a confrontation with loss and mourning inevitable. In the face of a somatic attack, the object is sometimes invested as a persecutor, sometimes as a saviour. Sometimes also, the subject has recourse to what the author calls a « masochistic solution », whilst the illness from which one hopes to be cured by making honourable amends is attributed to personal negligence or error. Certain counter transferential episodes prompted by the encounter with an analysand suffering from an attack in his body are also discussed.
