One day last summer in Ghana, 7,500 villagers gath-ered for a very special event. In the town square, a giant 200-inch screen was broadcasting the national soccer team in a heated match. The event, however, was about a lot more than entertainment. During the game, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and its local NGO partner were able to persuade some 1,100 Ghanaians to get tested for HIV or partake in educational programs on AIDS prevention.
