On A Sunday Afternoon last June 55-year-old Raymond Zest gripped his tightening chest. The closest hospital, Little Colorado Medical Center in Winslow, Ariz., wasn't equipped to handle heart attack patients. So the on-call doctor ordered a helicopter, flown by Air Methods, the nations largest air medevac operator, to fly Zest to the Flagstaff Medical Center. The 55-mile trip takes an hour by ground, 25 minutes by air. The Bell 407, outfitted with a stretcher, cardiac monitor and ventilator, took off from Winslow at 3:16 P.M.
