While the world has had its eye on tariffs and quotas, another trade war has been simmering, over dumping. Also known (among companies that don't like to compete against cheap foreign goods) as predatory pricing, dumping is the act of charging less for a good in a foreign market than it sells for in a domestic one. Microchips, sugar, steel, textiles-they've all been repeatedly dumped by companies hoping to get any incremental revenue they can in peripheral markets while trying to cover their fixed costs with higher prices in the home market.
