From department stores to supermarkets to gas stations, retailing makes up the largest group on this year's list, as measured by number of companies. A few stand out Spurred by new store openings, Forever 21 jumped 35 places, from 196 in 2010 to 161 this year. Convenience stores and gas stations all saw double-digit revenue growth, due mainly to an increase in the price of gas and diesel. Midwest-based Kum & Go crossed over the $2 billion threshold after dropping off the list in 2010. This year it claimed spot No. 207.
