Apple launched its iCIoud suite of online services Oct. 12. The new service lets users store their music, photos and doc uments on Apple's servers and synch them across all their devices. To support iCIoud, Apple opened a 500,000-square-foot data center in North Car olina earlier this year at an estimated cost of $1 billion. Another data center and a solar farm may be planned in the Tar Heel state on a 171-acre plot nearby. Apple has also leased space in a new data center in San Jose, Calif.
