I got to watch All the President's Men on a cross-country flight a few weeks back. I've seen the Watergate saga dozens of times since its release in 1976. It's one of the main reasons I pursued a career in journalism. It's also part of my personal trilogy of must-see movies about the news industry. The others: Broadcast News, a romantic comedy about a shallow, pretty-boy anchor testing journalistic ethics, and Network, the classic about TV ratings and fictional anchorman Howard Beale, who screamed, "I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore," a story line that sounds eerily familiar this presidential season.
