Weehawken has changed a lot over the past 250 years or so. During the Revolutionary War, the cliffs facing Manhattan were a great lookout point for George Washington's soldiers watching for British ships on the Hudson River. It was the site of Alexander Hamilton's infamous duel with Aaron Burr in 1804.
