Marina Kessler, the CEO of Latin Arte.com, the first website dedicated exclusively to Latin American art, knows a good opportunity when she sees it. One Sunday in May, the auction houses Christie's and Sotheby's held their semiannual Latin American art auction in New York. Sensing a chance to introduce Latin art enthusiasts to her two-month-old site, Kessler rounded up two minibuses painted with the LatinArte logo and shuttled customers back and forth between the two auction houses, serving champagne and hors d'oeuvres en route. At the same time, LatinArte's staff introduced them to the site and likely created a new set of customers.
