Telematics to benefit fleet

Logistics firm Connexas Group has secured a contract to provide food wholesaler Castell Howell Foods with a complete package of telematics systems to its entire fleet of vehicles.Castell's fleet of 292 vehicles, including 178 heavy goods vehicles, will now benefit from tracking, driver behaviour and onboard camera technology, consolidating its management systems under one Connexas Verilocation product suite.Simon Lillington, transport manager at Castell Howell Foods, said: "The integrated nature of the platform means we will be able to provide our customers with advance delivery information and an assurance of traceability."The platform is already helping our managers to improve efficiency by providing routing information and… feedback to drivers on their behaviour at the wheel."Verilocation's Remote Digital Tachograph Download service has also saved the firm up to two man-days per vehicle, per year from manually collecting tachograph drivers' hours data.
