FAM offers new cheese shredder

A centrifugal cheese shredder that marries hygienic design with increased efficiency and capacity has been introduced by Belgium-based FAM.The Centris 400C Hytec has a 15HP stainless steel planetary gear motor, which the company claimed was unlike the traditional 10HP centrifugal shredders on the market today.It has no flat surfaces or hidden corners inside and out and the contact surface resistance was extremely low, said the firm. There are no electrical components,bolts or wires in the product contact zone, so nothing can contaminate the food or attract the cheese to stick, it added.Its heavy-duty stainless steel SureShred cutting head features 16 cutting stations andhas been designed with 20% fewer pieces and moving parts. This, said the company, was a step up from the eight cutting stations previously available. It also features Set-and-Forget technology, allowing the user to set the desired preferences and achieve the same cut every time.
