One of the most repeated queries to roll into the FlyPast office is of this ilk: "Why did you call that a Warhawk? It's a Kittyhawk!" The answer is never straightforward, so here's a primer... The simple response is that all of the Model 81s and 87s that came out of the Buffalo, New York, Curtiss-Wright Corporation plant were at least initiated as Warhawks.
