Four former RAF Vickers VC-10s were recently pictured at Bruntingthorpe, Leics, awaiting the attentions of the scrapman. The jets in question are XV101, XV102, XV107 and XV105. The latter arrived on August 30,2011, with the other three following in December. The four retired tankers are pictured in the company of two former RAF Lockheed C-130K Hercules, XV221 and XV301. Also visible-and not destined to be scrapped - are HS Nimrod MR.2 XV226 and de Havilland Comet 4C XS235 Canopus, both of which are maintained at Bruntingthorpe in taxiable condition.
