A non-profit Educational Foundation established in 1979 to organise and support living history1 events enabling Americans to learn more through direct participation. The original focus centred on vehicles but during the mid-1980s activities were broadened to include aviation-related events. Since 1989, the Foundation has run the 'Wings of Freedom Tour' of World War Two aircraft. This has two goals: to honour the sacrifices made by veterans and to educate, especially younger Americans, about US history and heritage.
