Tempted by the prospect of some unique photographic opportunities, a glorious sunrise and a bacon sandwich, a large number of enthusiasts made the very early morning trip to Old Warden on March 19. The Shuttleworth Collection opened its doors at 5am to host its first ever dawn photo shoot. Sadly, the British weather decided to block out any hint of sunrise with grey cloud, but several aircraft were nevertheless positioned outside together with period props including some of the Collection's vehicles. Four Great War-era aircraft took centre stage accompanied by costumed re-enactors, enabling photographers to capture some unusual images, alongside the photogenic Gloster Gladiator and Parnall Elf. In lieu of a decent sunrise, a smoke machine helped to add character and facilitated some atmospheric shots.
