Hornet to be centrepiece of Blue Angels memorial

A $1m appeal to create a memorial to a US Marine Corps Blue Angels display pilot has passed the halfway mark. Capt Jeff Kuss died when his jet crashed in Smyrna, Tennessee, on June 2,2016. It's hoped that McDonnell Douglas F/A-18C 163498, which flew with the team last year, will form the centrepiece of the tribute. The retired jet has been loaned to the town of Smyrna by the National Naval Aviation Museum, based in the Blue Angels' home town of Pensacola, Florida.
