STRUCK BY LIGHTNING

Lockheed P-38J Lightning 44-23314 23 Skidoo was the centrepiece of the Planes of Fame Air Museum's monthly Living History Flying Day event at Chino, California on February 4. Special guests for the day were World War Two P-38 pilots Walter Drake and Bud Heiner, both of whom attended a well-received seminar on the aircraft. Afterwards, museum boss Steve Hinton gave a flight demonstration in the Lightning, one of only seven currently airworthy. All but one are based in the US.
