I totally agree with Richard Lambert ['Feeling frustrated by false footage', January issue] and Gordon Conway ['A plea for accuracy', November] about the need to avoid visual errors in documentary films. A bit of real research or even the use of modern-day computer graphics should ensure that such things never happen. In the recent three-part documentary with Dan Snow about the Dambusters I noticed footage of an Avro Manchester supposedly taking off for the raid [famously carried out by Lancasters - ED], so it looks like another researcher and/or film editor has not earned his or her paycheck.
