Having conducted its first after-dark event in 2015, the Shuttleworth Collection held this year's edition on October 13, with three stars of the museum intended to take part - de Havilland DH.88 Comet Grosvenor House, its 1918-builtAvro 504K and night-time debutant Hawker Sea Hurricane Mk.Ib Z7015. However, with heavy rain forecast a 'Plan B' was executed, meaning just the Comet and Sea Hurricane started their engines, the latter being plagued by a technical snag shortly after, while the Avro 504 remained indoors. New to this year was the imaginative use of LEDs in two of the hangars (Hangar One - World War One aviation and Five - Transport Pioneers) enabling attendees to capture the aeroplanes in a different light, among them the 1912 Blackburn Monoplane Type 'D' - the world's oldest airworthy British flying machine.
