Centenary Celebration

Among many modern flying machines, 16 historic aircraft were on hand to mark the 100th anniversary of the world's oldest aviation museum, at Paris-Le Bourget. The event was organised by the National Air and Space Museum in conjunction with the French Aero Club. It was initially planned to have around 40 aircraft displaying, but many of the lighter historical machines did not participate due to heavy rain and strong winds.
