De Havilland Comet 1A F-BGNX has been transferred to a new building at the de Havilland Aircraft Museum in London Colney, Herts. After 34 years on display outside, November-X-Ray was recently lifted by crane from its previous display position and then towed to the £2 million, National Heritage Lottery-backed Sir Geoffrey de Havilland Hangar. "The Comet has been on display outside ever since it arrived at the museum in 1985 and it is absolutely essential that we get it under cover," said marketing director Mike Nevin. "Even when built of metal, airframes still deteriorate when exposed to the weather and ours was beginning to suffer."
