Despite a stellar display line-up from Old Warden regulars and several guest items, for many attending The Shuttleworth Collection's Military Airshow on July 7 it was all about one aircraft - the Hurricane. With five examples arriving into the show from various commitments, the packed crowd witnessed history as the 'Hurris' flew the largest formation of the type - seven in total - in UK skies since the mid-1940s, before splitting into two three-ships and a solo. The latter was performed by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight's Mk.llc PZ865. With collection favourites, such as the Camel, Lysander, Gladiator, Spitfire and Polikarpov Po-2 bolstering the programme, visiting displays came from Duxford-based B-17 Sally B, a Fw 44 Stieglitz from Germany, P-47 Nellie B, and an Avro 504K from Sywell, Northamptonshire.
