Rockwell Collins Broadens Fusion Market

Rockwell Collins Has launched a light version of its Pro Line Fusion touch-screen-capable avionics suite for the turboprop and light jet market. The processors are integrated behind the screens (Rockwell Collins calls them embedded displays), eliminating the need for a separate space for avionics boxes and allowing the system to fit into smaller airplanes. The system is scalable, with versions that stretch from Hawker Beechcraft s King Airs to Bombardier's Global aircraft. In addition to broadening the new-airplane market, the new embedded display Fusion system was designed to retrofit into Pro Line 21-equipped airplanes.
