In too short a time, one more of the modeling greats has passed away. Jim Alaback, the columnist who created Old Timer Topics back in September 1992, died this past April 1 in San Diego, California.rnAlways unassuming and gracious, Jim was not only a great modeler but also a treasure trove of modeling information that he generously shared with all. Veteran FM readers knew him well when he was anchoring the column and he rightfully gained high praise for his style and his content. From an editor's standpoint he was a blessing: always on time with an almost perfectly written piece each month, along with some of the best historic pictures you can imagine.
