In modern plants, people automatically assume that the flock zone of a cloth production line must be air-conditioned, so a booth is built around it. The same is true of automated flocking systems for three-dimensional components. Temperature and humidity are maintained at stable, ideal values for the product in question. But what happens while the raw materials are in storage? What about the general ambient conditions in the production building, e.g., in the intake area before the adhesive-coated base material enters the climate-controlled booth? And how a-bout the additional steps the materials are subjected to after flocking and drying, such as cloth inspection, rolling, stamping, opening upon delivery, etc.? A basic level of climate control must also be present in production buildings where there are multiple manual workstations and/or semi-automatic systems work ing." Climatic islands" must be created for such areas.
