Embraer opens last of three new US business jet service centres

Enbraer has opened the last of ts three planned company-owned service centres in advance of first deliveries of its Phenom 100 very light jet by year's end. Located at Ft Lauderdale Hollywood International airport, the 5,156m~2 (55,500ft~2) facility will also cater to the Phenom 300 and Legacy 600 as well as the newly announced Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 models. Embraer expects to begin delivering Phenom 300s late next year. The company recently opened facilities at Bradley International airport in Connecticut and Phoe- nix Mesa Gateway airport in Arizona. Each centre will create about 60 jobs over the next five years, says Embraer, and offer full aircraft service, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, 24/7 technical assistance and parts, airframe, engine and avionics repairs as well as aircraft-on-ground emergency mobile rescue teams. Each facility will also hold an inventory of expendable and repairable parts, says Embraer.
