The Federal Aviation Administration has effectively grounded two light sport aircraft models designed by Zenith Aircraft and available through Aircraft Manufacturing and Design as factory-built or kit aircraft, following a special airworthiness investigation sparked by five ZenairrnCH601XL in-flight structural failures in the USA and several abroad.rnA sixth CH601XL failure in the USA, the day before the grounding, killed its lone pilot.
