Your Comment "No free ride to space" (Flight International, 23-29 November) correctly identifies the need for reliable government funding to support future US manned spaceflight "either way". "Either way" presumably means a choice between an enormously costly and probably unsustainable revived NASA-developed programme "a la Constellation" and on the other hand the private-enterprise initiatives by Boeing and (inexplicably omitted from your main article) Space-X. It was disappointing that there was not a greater acknowledgement in your main article of the great potential of a genuinely commercial approach to manned orbital spaceflight.
