Boeing has moved to put in place one of the final remaining pieces of the 777X puzzle as it heads towards the Dubai air show and the likelihood of securing a clutch of sizeable orders for its revamped big twin. In return for union concessions on retirement benefits and a number of incentives from Washington State, Boeing will guarantee that the carbonfibre wings and the fuselage of the 777X will be built in the Puget Sound area and sign a new eight-year labour pact with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM).
