Boeing has cut the expected demand for new high-capacity aircraft by nearly 20% - from 760 to just 620 - in its latest 20-year forecast. In its commercial market outlook for 2014-2033, the US manufacturer predicts an overall rise in demand to 36,770 aircraft deliveries - a hike of nearly 1,500 on last year - but is more pessimistic than previously about the 400-seat sector. The company's revision follows diminishing sales of its 747-8 and slow take-up of the Airbus A380. There is a "continued shift in demand" from the large four-engined jets to twin-engined types, it says.
