Flood and water incident response in 'TVne and Wear

Tyne and Wear has historically had a water incident capability since the early part of the 20th century when each major river had a fire boat stationed on it. However it is only since the widespread flooding that occurred in the UK in 2007 that a fully integrated approach to the management of water incidents has been adopted.
