Twenty years on and still going strong

Those of you with a keen eye might have noticed a rather inconspicuous footnote to Andrew Lynch's FIRE Comment piece in the October 2020 edition of the magazine: 'This month marks my first 20 years as editor. A heartfelt thanks to all my colleagues and contributors - past and present - for your patience, advice and encouragement. To you, dear reader, thank you for keeping me honest'. Whilst Andrew's words were, characteristically, focused on thanking others for their help during his time as editor, they did nothing to reflect the hugely influential contribution he has made to the UK fire and rescue sector since taking the reins at FIRE in 2000. Frankly, as Board members of Fire Knowledge Ltd (the owners and publishers of FIRE), we were not going to let him get away with that!
