New Zealand Defence gets PPE upgrade

New Zealand Defence is responsible for the defence, security and wellbeing of New Zealand citizens and comprises the Navy, Air Force and Army. For them, the health and safety of all their personnel, including firefighters, is a top priority. After extensive research and a thorough assessment of the options on the market, they opted for Bristol's world-class, lightweight and ergonomic XFlex structural firefighting design, with a TITAN1220 outer, a Gore* Crosstech Airlock moisture barrier and a Nomex Delta C lining. Their new ensemble, which exceeds the AS/NZS 4967:2009 Standard to which it is certified, is suitable for the various hazardous roles associated with a firefighters' daily operations. It is specially tailored to include bellowed radio pockets suitable for a range of communication devices, velcro attachments, and mic loops. All layers are breathable, and the lining is wickable, which helps reduce the build-up of internal heat. The moisture barrier also protects firefighters from dangerous blood-borne pathogens.
