Study links house fires and deprivation

Research into house fires and socio-economic deprivation in northwest England has underlined the need for community fire safety initiatives to target the vulnerable and elderly. The study, Developing links between accidental dwelling fires and deprivation, was carried out by John Curtis, head of Knowledge and Information Management at Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, and a team of researchers from Mott MacDonald Merseyside Information Services.
