The national Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has issued a new statistical report on fires in high-rise buildings in the USA. Authored by John Hall Jr. of the Fire Analysis and Research Division, the study explores trends in high-rise fire incidents during the period 2003 to 2006. According to the NFPA, there is a declining trend in the number of high-rise fires and associated losses. The report says an estimated 13,400 high-rise structure fires were reported each year - representing only 3% of all structure fires over the period.
