The growing number of prosecutions under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order in England and Wales - notably, the recent fines handed out to a nightclub in Barnsley and a hotel in Manchester - have highlighted that there are widespread fire safety issues that need to be addressed, particularly with regard to compartmentation, and that not taking action can have major implications in terms of life safety, business continuity and the reputation of organisations and individuals.
