IFE Charitable Educational Fund supports Kosova/Albania Humanitarian Aid Convoy

Following several months of intense planning, preparation and fundraising, a vehicle convoy, organised by Rotary International District 1290's Overseas Project Team (OPT), left Liskeard Fire Station in Cornwall on 19 September 2010. The destination was Kosova and Albania in eastern Europe, where the convoy of vehicles was to be donated. The project was supported by the IFE's Charitable Educational Fund. The convoy comprised two Dennis fire appliances, two buses with disabled lifts for wheelchairs, and a dual-purpose ambulance/crash rescue jeep, donated by Guernsey Ambulance and Rescue Service (see FRM, August-September 2010, p.46). The jeep departed a few days after the main convoy, and went a different route to revisit previous aid projects.
