Valuable safety shields

Pipe joint failures have caused a number of high-profile industrial incidents around the world, in which acid, oil and steam jet spray-outs have resulted in severe injuries, either directly or through consequent fires and explosions. Industry regulations recommend or suggest shielding or shrouding pipe flanges and other possible sources of leaks to ensure the protection of operators and equipment, and reduce risk. Safety shields or flangeguards are designed to limit potential spray to the area around a pipe joint and reduce the size of 'zoned hazardous' areas.
