NEW UKAS - ACCREDITED SCHEME GIVES GREATER CHOICE

The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) has been working with the fire safety sector to increase confidence and competence in the Fire Risk Assessment market, especially after the report by Sir Ken Knight following the 2009 Lakanal House fire in Camberwell. For many, the market for fire risk assessments is currently fractured, and it is under close scrutiny by public bodies, fire services, the legal profession, the fire trade and end-users. There are some individuals and, sadly a few companies, that have a little knowledge' and do not recognise 'what they don't know' when it comes to fire risk assessments and legislation across the UK.
