摘要

London's emergency services have joined forces to take part in one of the largest major incident training exercises in history. London Fire Brigade (LFB), London Ambulance Service, the Metropolitan Police, and Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) teams worked together to practise emergency response procedures to a major air crash incident in the capital. More than 200 emergency services personnel took part in the three-day exercise on 25-27 April, which simulated the crash of a Boeing 737 in East London. Teams spent four weeks creating the crash site, which featured 400 tonnes of rubble that partially buried the plane's fuselage to create a realistic representation of the aftermath of an aircraft crashing into a building. Real flames and smoke were used, and crash debris and working black box simulators were placed in the docks for the Metropolitan Police Dive Team to recover.
