Rollercoaster fire injures more than 30

A wooden rollercoaster at the Phantasialand park near Cologne caught fire on May 1, injuring at least 30 people. At the time of the fire there were 150 people on the rollercoaster, they managed to escape using a 60ft ladder. Thousands of May Day revellers were evacuated when the fire took hold at the adventure park. The financial damage has been estimated as being in excess of US$ 1 million.
