2013 REPORT TO READERS

On behalf of our global team, I am happy to report that the Financial Analysts Journal had another successful year in 2013. Continuing the long-standing mission of the FA}, we have striven to present the very best new ideas of practical relevance.1 In this way, the FA} aims to be a solid and sensible "voice of the profession," which seems especially important in today's environment, with investors and the financial industry continuing to heal from the impact of the recent global financial crisis. As promised in previous Reports to Readers, we continue to publish articles that offer tangible ways to further a trustworthy, forward-looking financial industry that better serves society. Only in this way can the FA} and CFA Institute remain both provocative and practical in addressing the many challenges facing the industry. In 2013, the FA} published 28 articles and six editorials, which covered a wide array of subjects and many of which were aimed at improving trust, ethics, and governance in our industry. In the coming year, we will continue these important efforts.
