ETB, Ufinet to team up for Bogota FTTH rollout

Colombian telco Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Bogota (ETB) and Latin American wholesaler Ufinet have revealed that they have signed an agreement to create a company that will commercialize a neutral fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) wholesale network serving Bogota and its nearby towns. The network will initially pass 1.2 million homes, rising to 2.5 million within three years. The agreement is subject to pre-evaluation by the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce (Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio, SIC).
