China up its crisis response

Chinese port reforms and gas developments are among the beneficiaries of Beijing's outward optimism about China's economic outlook for 2009. The Development Research Centre of the State Council told the China Development Forum on 21 March that the 8% growth target may well be met. The forecast is more bullish than those of most recognised international agencies.rnBeijing's forecast is based on its muscular economic intervention, aimed at adding almost 2% to GDP. The most active intervention is through national construction projects, which are buoying LNG suppliers and operators of LNG carriers. LNG terminals are being approved and started at a rapid pace, even before their gas supplies are certain.
