Li Ka-shing, chairman of Cheung Kong (Holdings), HWL's parent, was ranked Hong Kong's richest person by Forbes Asia in 2010. Reporting a net worth of $21.3Bn, Forbes said Li's wealth grew by $5Bn in the preceding year alone. Li is dubbed 'Superman' by the Hong Kong media because of his strong track record of mak ing the right call on investments. Forbes said Li correctly predicted in 2007 that China's stock market was in a "bubble." His fortune was estimated at $16.2Bn by Forbes in March 2009. Born in 1928 in Chaozhou in southern Guangdong province, Li expanded the Hong Kong plastics company he founded in 1950 through real-estate investments and acquisitions.
