IMO legal committee steps up to protect seafarers

The IMO's Legal Committee has taken steps to assist with the implementation of the International Labour Organization's (ILO's) Guidelines on the Fair Treatment of Seafarers in the Event of a Maritime Accident. After studying recent data on seafarer criminalisation provided by Seafarers' Rights International (SRI), the committee decided to put the matter on the work programme.
